Area Associate
Elizabeth (Beth) Leuenberger Orns, MSW, LCSW, is an alumna of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Social Work, and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Missouri. She has worked for the state of Missouri's Dept. of Mental Health at their maximum security mental health facility, and for community mental health centers in Missouri and Illinois. She currently works as a Juvenile Justice Liaison and Case Manager for McLean County. Beth has presented at state and national conferences on adolescent self-injury and other topics related to substance abuse prevention and youth leadership. She is available to meet with families in central Illinois and to work directly with families and students in collaboration with Jeanette Spires.
Western Suburbs
Joel completed a master’s degree in clinical psychology and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Wheaton College (IL) and has broad experience in clinical settings. He is a licensed clinical professional counselor and an associate marriage and family therapist. In addition to working with Jeanette since 2003, Joel has experience working as an individual and family therapist in agencies and private practice. Areas of particular expertise include:
- Working with families in the foster care system.
- Adoption and attachment issues.
- Family/marital conflict affecting adolescent functioning.
- Depression, anxiety, bipolar, borderline personality, grief and trauma.
Christian families seeking solutions for their adolescents may benefit from Joel's experience, although he does not work exclusively with such families. Joel has traveled widely throughout the world and is adept with families who have cross-cultural issues
